Web 2.0 Multimedia Blog Pre-Posting

So far during my sophomore year, I have been taking some very good classes. However, the one I enjoy the most is US History 1. This class is taught by Ms.Gaven, who is very nice, funny, and is an amazing teacher. When I started this class I thought I was going to learn a bunch of stuff from the past, but Ms.Gaven started by teaching us about the Bill of Rights, and many of the amendments from the Constitution. After that, then we got into the past history. We learned about political bosses, the Industrial Age, the truth about cowboys, and many more interesting topics.
My favorite part of this class is the fact that we can have open discussions not only about what we're learning, but about what's going on in the present day. We discuss very controversial issues and state our honest opinions, without getting judged. Yes, some people have different opinions, but you are never critisized for what you feel. I always feel like I can speak my mind in this class and be okay with it. Another thing I like about this class is that I'm not afraid to present. In my many years of being a WRHS student, I have been forced to present in front of a class without any choice, and be scared of getting judged. However, in this class I am not afraid because I know Ms.Gaven will not tolerate anyone being disrespectful to anyone else. Therefore, I look at Ms.Gaven as a way to help me getting over my presenting anxiety.
We use the Chromebooks very often in this class. Ms.Gaven tries to have use do projects online, and every single assignment we have is posted on Ms.Gaven's website, so that it saves paper and helps us to take information from online, and apply it to what we are learning in class. I think this is very helpful because nowadays we usually use technology as much as possible, and using it in the classroom makes the work much more efficient and somewhat easier, in my opinion. I hope that many other teachers will learn from Ms.Gaven and start using the computers more often, for it helps to make work easier to do, and it helps the environment also.
